Sr. Agile Business Analyst for Web Services

Summary

Sr. Agile Business Analyst for Web Services team comprised of 1 Scrum Master, 3 developers, 1 QA Analyst, 1 Web Service Tester, and myself supporting Phase One Consulting Group’s contract to the United States Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (USDA APHIS).

USDA’s Agricultural Risk Management System (ARM) is a secure, trusted Web-based Web Services application for information sharing and collaboration between Homeland Security Customs and Border Patrol and USDA APHIS Inspection Services.  ARM supports the mission areas related to the import, shipment, and tracking of commodities and goals to monitor, safeguard, and regulate animal and plant commodities.

Highlights

• Multi-Scrum team Project.  Agile/SCRUM software development methodology.  Using Rally Software as the Agile Tool.
• Work closely with Web services SCRUM team to size user stories, facilitate planning sessions, reviews and retrospectives.
• Wrote stories for all the Web service requirements between CBP ACE and USDA ARM.
• Data was sent over HTTPs as a SOAP Message using message level – Token Based Security
• Worked closely with and engaged Product Owner to discover new user stories and prioritize backlog.
• Used Cross-functional Diagrams, to drive out requirements or resolve design challenges.
• Facilitate communication between Product Owner and the developers.
• Validated and mapped XSD against database.
• Created and or Modified CBP’s XSD with Complex Types or new elements for specific use of USDA ARM.
• Established a standard user story template for SOAP messages.
• Ensure User Stories are complete, unambiguous and comprehensible for the DEV team and QA testing.
